SUN going with Microsoft

SUN has agreed to distribute Microsoft’s Live-Search-powered MSN toolbar with the Java runtime. This is ironic keeping in view the past relations between  SUN and Microsoft. The deal has been announced on November 10.The deal is applicable in US only and for Internet Explorer users.

SUN and Microsoft had bitter relations in past over Java. In 1997 and 2002 Sun sued Microsoft for alleged misuse of Java technology and microsoft had to pay huge amount to settle issues. So now this dal is being seen with quite interest.

SUN struck a deal with Google to bundle the Google toolbar with java in 2005.But now Google have Google docs so they dont need StarOffice. It seems SUN has decided to teach a lesson to Google since Google decided to drop SUN’s StarOffice from its Google Pack.

Microsoft has every reason to cheer since its like a shot in the arm to tackle a mighty giant Google.
